The Abstract of My Master Thesis "Utilizing Leadership Exploration to Establish Adolescent Identity by Narrative Approach"

This is a social work case study reflecting the positive possibilities of utilizing narrative approach with leadership group idea in dealing with adolescent’s identity needs which is a universally developmental aspect. A youth group displayed the array of narrative methods to exemplify a static way to help adolescents establishing identity other than collective outdoor leadership programmes existed prevalently, which aimed on complementing existing services by introducing elements related to intrinsic values and self-determination for adolescents. How to integrate the idea in conceptual and practical level is demonstrated via an intersectional group structure design and a list of related activities. The attempt also showed that unique outcomes could be manifested through group work. Preliminary participators’ responses gave insight the narrative approach as high adaptability means to diverse social services, which suggests striking forward for more substantial narrative intervention researches.
